I donno....I think you would have to be an old fan to answer this one....but I am open to anyone's opinion.....I am neither an old fan or new fan...I'm in the middle...its weird how the old fans and the new fans are divided....this guy on AFI's myspace left a comment and it really opened my eyes....I know people will call me stupid but....I really dont like it when bands are cocky and stop caring about their fans, because if it wasn't for us...they wouldn't be famous...I hear that they're shows are fake, and they aint nice to fans...even that Davey is rockin a fake british accent...I'm sorry I'm just annoyed. I donno what to think...and I dont wanna hear some dumb poseur girly girl talking about Davey and Jade Rock my Socks....shut the hell up and answer the ? thank you.

AFI...cocky???...no way....AFI is not even close to cocky... I have met them and they are one of the nicest people I have ever met....ever..they are great to their fans....i know because I have been to plenty of concerts...whoever you heard that "their shows are fake, and they aren't nice" doesn't know what they are talking about....that is completly untrue...have you ever been to one of their shows??? have you ever met them??

I am a old fan, but I stil respect them to this day and I don't base my opinion on popularity....

they are still a fire inside to me...

yeah...they did not get cocky...some old fans need to get over themselves and be proud that their favorite band has the success they sought after for years, and DERERVE!!! they love ALL their fans, and appreiciate them. Report It

i wouldn't really know about AFI. i like them, but i don't really keep up with them too much. but i know what you mean. and i hate how there's so much animosity between new and old fans. i've been a fan of Cold forEVER and sometimes the old fans are really rude to the new fans. like "oooh, you're not a 'true' fan" just because they weren't there from the beginning. i think it's stupid. we're all fans. it's the same band, whether you just found out about them or you've listened to them for years. what's the point in arguing? everyone wants to be the "better" fan.

Nope, they haven't gotten too cocky! They still love their fans. Go to a show and find out. I have pictures of Davey hugging my niece and he was quite interesting to talk to. I'm not into AFI but I have to say he was a sweetheart to talk to after the show.

i dont think they are being cocky. THey have been together for like 15 years or something so i think they are just surprised and happy with their success

I think they're alright, i'm not like a mad "OMg DaVey aNd JaDe" kind of person, could careless about them but yeah i think they got pretty cocky. The reached a pretty high level of sucess with Decemberunderground though, and did win a VMA, which would probably boost a lot of bands cockyness. Black Sails Into The Sunset was their best album, pure and cocky free. Too bad they're not like that no more.

I've been an AFI fan years. I don't think they've gotten cocky at all. But that's just my opinion.

I don't know AFI because I've never met them but, as far as I know AFI hasn't changed. sure their music has changed (if you compare it to answer that and stay fashionable) but, Davey is still grateful to the fans and about the British accent....... probably someone who hates them wrote that. don't believe everything you read because that's probably crap written by haters.
